Future hardware to WiFi 7

following your “logic” wifi 7 is then also Solving a problem that does not exist. if the “vast” Majority of users don’t know what an ethernet port is all they are using wifi 7 for is to watch YouTube / browse Facebook if that’s the case might as well stick to 2.4ghz as its provides the best signal / distance ratio.

it not like I’m saying they need to put a whole network set up based of a switch and a router and such for £1000’s but considering router solutions exist around the same RRP as the TP link Aginet its not an unrealistic ask is it.

The average user doesn’t care for Wi-Fi 7 either :joy:
Tech enthusiasts will want Wi-fi 7 but they also build their own hardware/labs and tinker.

You’ve gone from routers with multiple 2.5Gbps ports to bouncing back to Wi-Fi 7. Good luck in your quest for a new ISP supplied router :+1:

I don’t know what to say, you on a forum for an ISP with the main selling point of multi gig internet. we are discussing the best way to utilise it weather that be wifi 7 or 2.5gb lan. coming back to using the average person as an argument they are clearly with the wrong provider.

The router does provide multi gig, so what’s your point? Like I said previously if you want to deck out your home with Wi-Fi 7 mesh and 2.5Gbps to copy files across the lan on multiple devices that saturate the links simultaneously, then build it.

Most people like me will buy a 2.5 GB capable switch if they need more ports, If all you use is the router then four ports is not gonna be enough for some people

I want all my TVs hardwired that’s four ports taken, before I even start plugging in a PS5 Xbox PCs, et cetera

On my actual set-up which will be changed soon all of them are connected with Ethernet cable so that I can let wi-fi free as much as possible for our mobile devices.

Any updates on the wifi 7 rollout.
We have quite a few items that support the standard (Samsung s10 Ultra, Oppo Find N5, Iphone 16Pro etc)

While not free, something like this would be a good option..
