Im still in the USA

Snap, sent an email to support last week having originally sent an email to their noc address on Dec 11th requesting my original static ip back.

We still seem to be in the USA is there a time frame for this to sorted out?

Iā€™m also still in the USA for anything google related (Search, Youtube, Etc). On 213.18.X.X

Frustratingly, at the bottom of search it shows my location as the UK, but still serves me US results. Shopping results are all priced in USD, and you canā€™t change it.

If I try and update my location, it only lets me update it to the USA, because thatā€™s where it insists that I am.

Same here on 213.18.x.x; every IP location service Iā€™ve checked says Iā€™m in the UK, but Google steadfastly thinks Iā€™m in the USā€¦

The only way to fix it has been to make sure Iā€™m logged in to my Google account and manually set the region to UK (which works for a while).

I get inheriting geo location and it taking a while to update, so Iā€™ve lived with it for a whileā€¦ itā€™s just weird that Google is so insistent Iā€™m in the US while everyone else isnā€™t!

(Also ā€¦ if this range was bought from RM Education, RM have been British since the dawn of time!)

Wonder when I should chase up support via email again, sent one on Dec 29th but I know they werenā€™t back to dealing with support issues until today 6th Jan. Still waiting to be put back on my old ip address pre migration.

Waiting since the upgrade work was done back in December I was told be done today

Was yours sorted, Iā€™m still waiting & no reply to my email to support as of yet.

Think I too may still be partially US-based.
Will confirm when I get home later, but am definitely still getting US ads on Google on my phone, and Iā€™m sure the Chromebook still thinks itā€™s in Denver.

I mailed support and got this:
"Yes, we are working with Google on this, we have UK addresses and all geolocation companies have our addresses set to the UK, but for some reason Google are now thinking they are US based.

Please bare with us, we are in communication with them seeking their resolution.

Kind Regards
"

so they are aware. Seems like its a google thing

This looks like itā€™s fixed for me now

Yes seems like itā€™s fixed now as well - finally wooo

Will this ever get fixed for myself ?? Been in an email chain for days but no signs of improvement. It shouldnā€™t have to be that hard.

I believe this is fully resolved now. So Iā€™ll close this thread for now
