Hi,
I’m using my Unifi UXG Lite with my service but I can’t get it to work. I suspect that the problem might be with the install but I wanted to check my config with the group here, does this look right for the Unifi?
Hi,

That looks fine to me, what lights do you have on your ONT?
3 solid and the 4th flashes.
Are you setting up fresh (new install) or replacing old router?
If so it can take 10 minutes once you unplug your old router.
Also UPnP enabled isn’t a good idea as a security risk.
And your Dynamic DNS hostname is showing which I advise you blurring.
It’s a fresh install. I’m the 1st customer on my pole and the 2nd CityFibre customer on this street. The install was 24 hours ago.
I also tried directly into my PC with VLAN 911 setup on the NIC (Ethernet sync’ed at 2.5Gb but no IP). Ran a Wireshark trace and saw no DHCP traffic other than my requests.
Then converted a GLiNet router to VLAN 911 on the WAN port and it couldn’t get an IP.
Okay, please drop a line over to [email protected] as there’s a chance that the CityFibre engineer hasn’t closed down your job. They can check this for you
Thanks blurred the DDNS (never post tired).
As for uPnP, multiple games consoles mean that it’s a choice that I make for an easier life with family…
Yeah makes sense
Oh yeah doing anything tired isn’t great lol
Thanks, have dropped a line to support to confirm if the job is closed yet (it wasn’t yesterday when they kindly checked soon after install).
I did get a text from CityFibre asking for feedback after the install but I suspect (job being closed down =/= thank you text being sent out)
Thanks for input, I wanted to help in double-checking the config on my part. The last thing I wanted to be was “that user” who put in VLAN 991 or something stupid and wasting the support people’s time.
(I was once that support engineer, and I once spent 45 minutes on the phone with a user who said all the comms were down, and then after a while said they went down after they tried to use the toaster this morning and it sparked instead of cooking toast, but it couldn’t be an electrical problem as the lights in the building still worked )
I bet that was an awkward conversation
Quick update.
All working, just plugged in tonight when I got home from work and up and running.
Awesome news! Did you change anything or just come up on it’s own?
Didn’t change anything, so I was glad I came here to confirm that the config was correct and just kept trying until commissioning was finally finished.
Only mistake that was made was by me in my assumptions, I’d not realised that GPON was still asymmetrical, roll on XGS (please).
Compared to Virgin Media Business it’s same download (the reality is that GB Ethernet is probably the bottleneck but I’m upgrading to 2.5Gb soon), slight slower upload but half the response/ping time
Is your upload around 200? If so that will be due to the traffic shaping currently in place (between 17:00 - 22:00). Which if you reboot your ONT/Router then it should ramp back up to full power!
Actually it was around 100Mb.
Will probably give the ONT a reboot anyway this weekend. I take it they don’t take as long as a cable modem/router to reload?
They don’t no
