900 Plus: is the IP address assigned STATIC? [RESOLVED]

@Yayzi_Team

I am on the 900 Plus Package, I know the IP address assigned to me has been stable for months now. :grinning:

Is the address assigned to me a STATIC address or could it change at some point with reboot of the ONT?

Looking to setup a VPN server, just checking if the currect address is going to remain assigned to me (185.210.170.x range) or do I need to request a STATIC IP to assigned to my account?

the 900 package by default is not static, I think this is an add-on for £2 a month :slight_smile:

in that case @Yayzi_Team will get back to me and set it up with £2 /pm addon.

Thanks.

I’m on the same package and haven’t requested for a static ip. My ip address did not change even after restarting my ONT, I’m guessing would be the same for you as well.

It depends on the lease time Yayzi have setup on their routers. Just means that the IP can go back in the pool at any time. Normally the IP won’t change unless you reboot the ONT/Router and it just happens to be near the end of the lease time.

@quackers you could use a Dynamic DNS provider for the VPN.

The package is marketed with a STATIC IP as an optional extra. I know after the IP issues early in the year, IP addresss were assigned as STATIC/STICKY.

@USB: I have rebooted my ONT several time and thankfully IP remained the same.
@WhyAydan : I was going to setup DDNS (duckdns) - just not got round to it.

Not a huge issue I want the certaintiy of the address remaining the same. I have asked @Yayzi_Team to setup a Static IP on my account for ease.

Yeah makes sense, better to have the certainty of it being static.
