Yes, I can absolutely help you.

You were nearly there with setting it up you were in the right place, If you click on the chat bubble with the number one on it in the top right hand side, you’ll see that I’ve sent you a message. I will give you my phone number and if you have an iPhone, you can FaceTime me, As that will allow a screen share and I can step you through it

I will be available at around 4:30pm onwards tomorrow

We were unfortunately unable to get his X 50 deco to detect an Internet connection even after setting the VLAN in advanced settings. He is happy to use the deco as access points though, We just need to turn off his Yayzi router Wi-Fi

Is the firmware up to date?

The latest is version 3 looking on their website, which might help.

Thanks for your help today it’s very much appreciated and I’m sure you can see what I’m up against . I have returned system back to added on to original router and all working and I also managed to check updates for the deco and all up to date

That’s good news their website has some useful info and videos one being “What to do if I fail to configure the main Deco and get stuck on “Testing Internet Connection”?”
Enjoy your connection :slightly_smiling_face:

It’s actually a lot more effort than you might think to reset or even reboot it. They don’t put the obvious settings in the most obvious of places.

The main problem was, It wasn’t obtaining a WAN IP, Even with VLAN 911

Things we tried:

Restarting the ONT
Resetting the Deco
MAC address clone from the Yayzi router.

I will add that when he contacted Yayzi for Support, They just told him to “ Go to the forum” Which while a valid answer, Is not really an answer I would have given. I don’t believe they even try to help.

Granted, since it is own equipment, they don’t have to, However, they could’ve tried.

Given that you have also stated that the latest OS version is 3.0 and he is stuck on 1.5.5, I think he is likely right when he said it may be a duff unit, While on the phone

It does seem like he may have v1 Hard revision As the firmware update seems to match

The only thing we could have probably tried, Is turning off the auto WAN port, But it did seem to recognise when the ethernet cable was plugged in so maybe that wouldn’t of worked

It’s a lot of hassle to keep trying this, so it’s probably best just to leave it as it is as long as he’s happy

I don’t know how you got that far I can tell you’ve had lots of fun with those settings lol blooming heck, someone writing it (the code for the product) doesn’t understand anything network related.
Well done to you for getting as far as you did and helping them :+1::slightly_smiling_face:
Yep a agree with your comment about support as well, search on the web is always available and support manuals galore :slightly_smiling_face:
