Do Yayzi test anything?

A reply to the post by Yayzi on my thread:

Ah so it’s all CF’s fault, deffo not anything to do with Yayzi?!

This is not me saying it’s a CF fault.

Yayzi themselves are posting saying it’s down to CF.

We’re migrating customers from one NNI to another on CF - We’ve been on strict instructions, we’re not blaming anyone at all.

So, the speeds tonight are a tiny fraction of what people pay for - miles below the floor standard your email set of 250mb and yet it’s no one’s fault?

What I said was, these speeds are not expected and we’re looking into it.

No, you blamed CF.

Are any other CF providers having issues tonight?

No other providers are migrating their NNI’s, only us. Because the work has to be booked in with CF…

Ahhhh got it, so no other CF providers are having issues but it’s definitely not at all to do with Yayzi. Got it.

Buddy calm down

We’re migrating our whole network…

Old Rack > CF > New Rack - the migrations happen directly on CF network, they’re CF ports.

We’re not blaming anyone, this is exactly what happens when doing migrations.

Perfectly calm, perhaps Yayzi could calm down with locking posts and censoring their own support forum?

You said speeds would be 250mb which wasn’t what people pay for but probably ok for a day or two.

Instead we’re down to speeds of 3-6mb - entirely unacceptable.

You lurch from one issue to the next and repeat mistakes such as those with geo-IP - you need to get your act together.

I awknowledged the speeds aren’t what we expected, and its being looked at.

To say the speeds aren’t as expected is an understatement. When I have to switch to 4g to access my ISP’s support forum I think you can pretty much class it as a complete outage.

beg to differ, i’m currently unable to watch sky online, wife is unable to shop online at iceland…
sky’s saying currently not available in your location…
iceland just refuses to load but when on mobile data loads just fine…
not checked others such as streaming and other shopping sites as i can say for sure some will also be broken…

As someone who works in a NOC for a tier 1 ISP - I’ll defend Yayzi on the Geo IP issues as I don’t think an ISP even has an obligation to manually chase up 3rd party DB companies. You create a Geofeed as per the RFC 8805 spec and submit it to these companies for automatic ingestion and processing on a schedule, but that is literally all you can do.

Yes, it’s nice that you can sign up to an old ISP that has been in business for 3000 years and has IPs directly allocated to them by RIPE that are correctly tagged by every single 3rd party database company, but it’s the websites and privately owned DB companies that are causing websites to act weird, not Yayzi.

If you’re used to things ‘just working’, that should be seen as luck, not other ISPs doing something right or Yayzi doing something wrong.

If it means that much to you, get your own ASN and PI space from a RIR and own your IP space and deal with these issues yourself.

I think you are not only rude, but throwing your job title about is rather sad. We are all customers of Yayzi, and these guys have worked very hard to get this going. Your rude attitude is embarrassing. You picked the cheapest supplier and demand top service. When you signed up, you must, as a professional, have done your research. You must have seen, as I did, that it is a small company. I am surprised how hard they work to deliver the service they supply to us. I used to be with VM and had one week no internet and not even an explanation. But therefore, I had to pay a lot more than I pay here. If you feel so disgusted as you seem, why don’t just leave?

Looks like speeds are slowly increasing.

Thanks @Yayzi_Team for working all hours

I’m not throwing my job title about - I’m making the point that error after error occurs and we’ve got people on here defending it all and saying Yayzi aren’t out of their depth - if that was true then they wouldn’t be stumbling from error to error as they are. The reason I brought up my job is to show that I’m not clueless in this area, I know how to project manage technical implementations…

Tonight is yet another night where Yayzi’s services are massively degraded, them locking post after post on the forum is a complete and utter joke.

Yes, how very dare their customers be annoyed at the huge number of issues…
