Due to go live on the 7th Aug so far we have been visited by two different city fibre vans both have had a look and a poke around and both left very quickly.
I’m just getting worried now that this means they are going to have a problem routing the fiber cable to the house
When open reach came 3years ago it was a right game and we where left without broadband for a week while they tried to run the cable for EE…
They will have just done a pre-site survey. That is nothing to be worried about
Hopefully, they will not run into any issues, Do you see a green box in the ground near where your edge of the property is?
They will start there and run the cable into the house using the most direct path however they will discuss the options with you and make sure you’re happy before going ahead
Mine comes over from the nearest pole and is fixed to the fascia, runs down the side of the house and back up into the upstairs office. They’ll find a way.
No green box think they will use the BT under ground pipes to get to their connection boxes
They seem to have located their switch boxes next to the underground BT manholes
Third van came yesterday said they couldn’t do pre work as couldn’t get the fibre cable though from the box then left
Think they are going to have problems and we won’t be connected on due date
Said they didn’t have a vacuum on the van to suck stones out of the pipe that had fallen down
It will get sorted, don’t worry, I had a similar issue with my install and it took about three weeks to sort
House to the green box was fine, but the issue was from the green box to the cabinet, There was a kink in the tube, Which required them to dig up the path, once Identified where?
I’ll add a picture as I walk past
That was all for my connection
Number 4 turned up today just the same scratched their head and left.
