As the sims is with three… the network coverage is bad…iv been with three for a couple of yrs now… and i cant even get 5g in my home… only when im outside…and if i go within 6 miles of my home… my network connection is gone… or i just get very low 4g signal… id wait till they join with vodafone… but that deal has been pending for a while now…and could be another yr or so for it to be done… id say just get a Vodafone sim for now… it would be worth the yayzi sim…if it came with a decent phone…
Horses for courses. I was with Vodafone for the last 24 months and there were so many dead spots both around where I live but also pretty much the whole of my town centre. Now on 3 network and so much better. I can actually get 5g in my house with 3 but Vodafone had zero 5g coverage in the whole town. So, in my opinion. I would take 3 over Vodafone any day but it all depends on your own circumstances. In fact, I did a Speedtest on my phone while sitting in the bath and got 200Gb on it, via 5g. Nice.
Just because you wouldn’t bother with a Three-based MVNO, doesn’t mean that’s the experience for anyone else…
Been on 3 for years, great connection. In fact for the 18 mths before Yayzi they were providing my broadband. Had I not just renewed for another 2 years a couple of months ago, I’d absolutely be going for a Yayzi SIM!
There’s plenty of coverage checker websites out there to check for coverage before purchasing. Due diligence is what’s required before committing to a network, not a blanket dubbing for a network that may not even state they have good coverage in your area.
Not saying that you didn’t do this first, just pointing out to other that may be put off a perfectly good network based on your post. My wife’s been on 3 for many years, she has no issues locally, when we go away to certain parts of the country there are some parts that have black spots, but that’s the same with most networks.
I have a couple of sims with Smarty mobile which the same idea as yayzi on 3, use them for failover and never had a problem with them…
Just need to do your research and check coverage, not the MVNO fault if coverage in a particular area is bad.
They have partnered with a company called reboxed for phones. But for £15/£20 an unlimited sim is a no brainier.
Removed by myself - post came across as me being a tit. Wasn’t my intention
They were pretty clear; it was all in the first person - “I” would not… We are free to do as we deem appropriate.
You do you, hun
I’ve been with a different Three MVNO for years now. It’s generally absolutely fine for me in the majority of places I go. Work does take me out into the arse end of nowhere, and I have a second sim on an EE MVNO for that. There are times when the Three one will get a signal and the EE one won’t, and vice versa.
To suggest that Three has bad network coverage is nuts. Maybe it was the case a decade ago, but definitely not these days. And why are you still with Three if it’s so bad where you are?
Have you tried Three in Leeds? especially indoors… it’s awful - less then 10mb/s
Outdoor is fine though
I don’t think I’ve ever been to Leeds.
Speeds and signal for all networks will vary greatly depending on location. There’s no one network that’ll always give you signal regardless of where you are, never mind good speeds. Even if the signal’s great, the backhaul to the tower can be congested. Sometimes you’ll get better speeds on 4G than on 5G as well.
Yes that is very true, people down south have no issues with Three
So do I understand you right, that because in your area three connection is not great that means that in the whole UK it is the same.
So If in my area the Three connection is let’s say great, that should also mean that in the whole UK Three connection is great.
Well I don’t think it works this way.
When I google best 5g network UK,
1st results show:
" Best overall 5G network
Tallying up the wins, Three comes in first place with three wins or ties, specifically winning for speeds, unlimited data, and pay as you go.
EE takes second place, as it wins for coverage and extras, while Vodafone is in third, with a tied win for unlimited data."
2nd result:
" Which network has the best 5G coverage?
Multiple reports from Rootmetric and Ookla – two companies that test internet and network performance – show that EE currently has some of the best 5G coverage in the UK, especially in terms of reliability. However, Three is known to offer the best speeds, although its coverage isn’t as reliable as EE.
Which 5G network is the fastest?
According to various tests carried out by Rootmetrics and Ookla, Three provides some of the fastest 5G download speeds on the market.
Vodafone also has a solid 5G performance and the fastest upload speeds, although it’s not available in quite as many cities."
3rd result:
" RootMetrics: Three overtakes EE for best UK 5G network"
Your advise I would rate as one of the worst you can give because you based it only on one location. It’s not objective at all as I don’t think the whole world lives in your area.
I’ve been with Three for a couple of years and I can’t complain. I chose the provider based on the similar research articles. Imho Yayzi selecting one of the best providers is a good decision.
Please don’t see this as an advertisement because it’s not, however I just tested All four major networks in the UK using a cheap multi Network Sim from here: ✅ Best Travel eSIMS for the United Kingdom, Europe from only $2.49 - ✅ Fast & Reliable Virtual Electronic Embedded Sim Cards For the United Kingdom - EscapeSIM
I tested on:
EE
O2
Three
Vodafone
The screenshots are also in that order
You should use this as a base for testing networks in your area
Should also be pointed out your phone can be the culprit. I was with three but their 4G doesn’t work with my phone wheras Vodaphone’s does.
It can, agreed, depends what Bands your phone supports vs what the networks use, but that’s only really an issue if you bought your phone in another country or had an import from China like I have in the past
