IPv6 plans and details

:joy::joy:
To be fair nobody is missing much with V6. Ive disabled it, much prefer IPV4 as i know where i stand with it.

I can understand the excitement, but the novelty wears off within about an hour.

We have our own meme, I love it!! - We’re actually just awaiting a new firmware from TPLink, so we don’t have to do two lots of updates

Maybe this helps any EX820V Users.

  1. Advanced → Network Tab → Internet → Modify → Enable: IPv6 → SLAAC → Save
  2. Advanced → Network Tab → LAN Settings → Ipv6 (top right corner)

It may take a few minutes to propagate (usually it is instant) or you may need to restart the router to make sure the connected devices are using the settings.

You will not see any IPv6 addresses visible on the router, though you should be able to ping6 google.com etc.

Hope this helps.

I did this, and fiddled for ages but couldn’t get it to work. Then remembered i’d disabled ipv6 on my nic as it broke my pihole for some reason.

Working now!

@Yayzi_Liam Any progress from the network team on what’s going on with DHCP on my connection yet? Thanks

Thank you so much for this I tried these settings my Yayzi supplied Ex230v router and it worked

Any Yayzi staff able to check that my connection is configured for IPv6? I have DHCPv6 enabled on my UDM Pro with a Prefix Delegation of 60 and it’s not picking an address…

Would be useful to get this working as I can then enable & test on a few servers I manage…

Are your clients seeing an IPV6 address? There’s a bug currently in the UniFi software, the router won’t display an ipv6 address in the UI

Disable ipv4 on the router and then try visit: ipv6.google.com

If it’s successful you have ipv6

Thanks for letting us know.

What’s weird about my issue, is that other forum members are on the same IP range 141.11.200.xxx, and IPv6 works fine for them.

Which seems to suggest that it’s something specific to do with my account.

@Yayzi_Liam @Yayzi_Team Any updates on this from the network team please?

I’ll have a check in with them now :slightly_smiling_face:

Hi i spoke to your colleague earlier on whats app to update to IPv6 but since i got home we have had not internet access

1 hour later, no updates or results

Give the Yayzi team time. It’s 21:00 at night

Yeah i have been speaking to them out of hours

As stated on WhatsApp this has been identified as a CityFibre issue and we are awaiting further information, I will keep you updated :slightly_smiling_face:

Yayzi_Team hi there, my IPv4 address is in 149.18.86.*, after set WAN on DHCP6 with Prefix Delegation Size set to 60, Send IPv6 prefix hint, and Only request IPv6 prefix not an address. I can see valid IPv6 addresses acquired in LAN, but I can’t reach the internet via IPv6.
I have the link-local IPv6 prefix configured as my default IPv6 gateway. Could you please advise? thanks.

Update: I have this issue resolved. Since I run Pfsense on VM, the bridge must be set with:
bridge-maxwait 0
bridge-multicast-snooping on
