Can I request a static or dynamic /56 or /60 prefix delegation for my IPv6 connection?
The current single /64 is not useful, if you need IPv6 running on multiple networks.
A /56 or /48 assignment is best practice.
With /64 networks on Lan Networks
@Yayzi_Team, whats the thinking on the /64 assignment vs a/56 or /48?
- /56: This prefix length is suitable for users who may want to create multiple subnets within their home network. It provides flexibility for future expansion.
I agree quackers, i would also want to understand the very unusal reason for /64.
A very unusual decision. /64 is almost unusable and goes against RIPE’s own guidelines. It’s not like going larger even has a cost as the IPs are essentially free…
We waited 7 months for a/64 ![]()
This is a backward step from /56 we had before.
/56. is useable for most home based scenarios.
IPv6 is disabled for me until at least a prefix of /56 is provided.
Think with this nufibre launch going, hold zero expectation of this getting resolved.
Don’t think Yayzi have anything to say, so I guess that will be the only solution. I didn’t even mind paying a little extra if it helped to get useful IPv6 in 2025!
After all they pulled me in with the 2.4g duplex speeds, why would they want to stop at that? Become the go to internet for internet users
with homelabs or networking needs, but not in the business domain a Yayzi network for Yayzi people. ![]()
