Latency Doubled since recent Outage

Simpler thing yesterday with my swap but luckily my wife was a bit clued up she told them to call the fibre exchange they read all the serial numbers off the Ont and it come back straight away

Grrrr.

They came back looked at the ONT said it was still provisioning and that they will come back in a few hours. I mean it must be a simple thing to do right?

They did that with me a while ago, said they’d come back etc but never actually did. I messaged Yayzi and they had it on within 10mins

Thanks for the response. Unfortunately I already tried that and Yayzi said cause City Fibre haven’t closed the job there is nothing they can do…5hours without broadband for something that I assumed would take a matter of minutes! (to unplug the old one and replace it). Not impressed so far

Just an update on this. I am still without broadband. Apparently there is a City Fibre issue with ceasing G-PON connections and instating XPS-PON connections. It apparently is affecting thousands of customers that switched over in the last few days. Not happy as I’ve already been without broadband since 9am yesterday, and have no hope of it being sorted over the weekend. Be warned, you may want to wait before switching over given the total s-show it has been for me so far.

Is that speed done over WiFi or was you connected via an Ethernet cable?

When they did my one same thing happen wasn’t coming back on I wasn’t at home my wife was they call me asking how they reboot my router and they did that still didn’t work wife told them something like this happened before and the guy call the exchange so they did make that call to the exchange and they give all the details of the Ont with few minutes was back online but maybe your area different and how willing the engineer is to get you back online maybe if my wife didn’t mention the call to the exchange maybe I would of have the same problem hope they sort it soon for you
