No internet for 8 Hours

I’ve been without internet for 8 hours, based in York and on the 141 IP address, done the usual reboots both ONT and router, * get an IP address but that’s it. Any help ?

no its not been sorted, i’m using a pFsense router, my config has been working for months and i’ve made no changes. got no response from enayone.

I’m sorry if you’ve opened a ticket and it’s been missed. We’re still going through them. If you open another and put it FAO of Liam, I’ll take a look

Just to update, I now get no IP address and no connection, @Yayzi_Team I replied to your email this morning, sorry I didn’t reply sooner :joy:

Are you able to test my line? I ask this because I’ve inspected the fibre cable coming through the wall and it’s been installed very poorly theres a 90 degree bend that’s very sharp I’m hoping this hasn’t damaged the cable inside.

I’ve removed the cap of the casing on pass through and attached an image, none of this is secured to the wall and the ONT is not secured correctly.

It takes close to a 180 degree bend before the fibre will stop working

Youtube Guy who has seemingly no concept of light refraction, reflection or even the fact that light travels in straight lines, making a video of a bent vs straight fibre cable and the shock… :man_facepalming:

This is more true for bend insensitive fibre and patch cables than necessarily the cable coming into the wall [although tbh I don’t know for sure what type of cable CityFibre use for their incoming lines - the white ‘pigtail’ is bend insensitive though].

They will need to see the ONT status lights at a minimum, to help work out if this is a fibre issue vs a network issue.

I’ve sent them a photo of the ONT and the lights in the support ticket. Just waiting for a response.

Still no internet its been 2 days without it.

This is with CityFibre currently, they’re going reprovision the line.

I thought that it was supposed to be between 12 and 4 am today?

@Yayzi_Team my support ticket was closed but I’ve still got no internet it’s been 2 days now, I know it’s with CF but that’s all the info I was given, do we have an ETA?
