Port forwarding issues - Was my server

Have I been switched to a CGNAT or has yayzi started using one again??

As of about yesterday maybe Friday I have been having all sorts of issues with port forwarding the biggest issue being Plex working but not working and the symptoms point to a CGNAT being used

Not that I’m aware, they’ve not switched to CGNAT…

Basic test to do is: CGNAT Test

Or:

  1. Access your router’s settings by entering its IP address (usually 192.168.0.1 or 192.168.1.1) into your web browser.
  2. Log in with your router’s credentials.
  3. Find the WAN IP address under the router’s status or Network settings.
  4. If the IP address falls within the range of 100.64.0.1 to 100.127.255.254, it’s likely your ISP is using CGNAT

There is no CGNAT. As @L0rdVerga said try the test and let us know

I know what my IP is anyway. It’s 141.201.11.**

So not a CGNAT then…

I wonder what on earth is going on with my connection then

Might give my router a smack with a mallet when I get home :joy::eyes:

May I recommend using a glass hammer!

What router are you using?

Are you also trying to use Plex via UPnP? If you manually park forward Plex and then go into the server settings and manually specify part 32400, it does work more stable than UPnP from my experience

Manual port is also not working correctly.

Plex says it’s not reachable from the internet but I can access the web interface and browse my library but not watch.

Router is a gl inet flint 2 mt6000

OK, so, whatever was going on sorted its self out… after I reset my google account password.

So, I got an alert from google in the middle of the “problem” saying suspicious activity was detected from a device logged into my account. My server. Reset the password and all of a sudden Plex worked, Minecraft and Satisfactory game servers started working online again.

I just done malwarebytes scan and its clean.

I wonder what on earth was going on!

I’m glad you have got it sorted. And thanks for sharing the solution.

Nothing more annoying than finding someone posting online with the same issue as you and then they say..

“Thanks guys, Fixed it”

And nothing else!
