Slow Internet Speed

Hello there,

I have recently noticed a drop in internet speeds over wifi6 and wired.

Further to resetting and rebooting, nothing appears to have changed.

I can see the speeds when running a speed check drive up to 600ish mbps and dwindles down to 200 mbps (throttling?) every time. and the result is always the same+/- 2-3 mbps.

What gives?

Welcom @vivyan

Are you using the Yayzi supplied router?
Have you tried different speed test sites
For example.

Hi Lee,

Thanks for the reply.

Im wired directly into the yayzi supplied router. The outcome of your website is…

You can clearly see on the graph on the top right where it starts off at a higher speed then drops down to a steady 190

Nothing set in Qos on the router?

QOS is off

If you are confident enough and your NIC supports VLANs on your PC then you can bypass the Yayzi router to run a quick test. This will rule out the router, but this will put your PC directly on the internet, ensure you’ve got windows firewall enabled and anti virus running

If using Windows, search run , in the run box type: ncpa.cpl

From there, right click your NIC and properties > then configure > then advanced, see if VLAN ID is available, if so set it to 911

Plug the ethernet cable from your ONT straight into your PC and run a test. Then remove the VLAN ID again and plug back ONT back into the router.

Entirely up to you if you want to do it.

Be nice if these TP links came with a built in speed test. But @Yayzi_Team will be able to do a speed check straight from your router themselves.

Appreciate the help!

Unfortunately I’m on my work laptop since its the only windows device I have at home and it cooperate restrictions restrict me from doing any of the above… :frowning:

Perhaphs @Yayzi_Team could step in and run it on their end… ?

We’re on it for you

Hello, any update to this ?

We’re seeing the same slow speeds direct to the router, it’s been raised with CityFibre

@Yayzi_Team just a heads up that your website is still saying 2.5GB Down/Up for new customers. You might want to get it changed so people don’t complain and say not getting correct speeds👍

Where are you seeing this?

Oh on the actual order.

Yes when I put my postcode in the checker then it comes up with the 2.5GB speeds. It needs changing as it’s misleading.

I get 2.5 as an available option too when I chose the regrade in the portal. Is it 2.3 or 2.5?

I originally signed up for 2.5GB but then Yayzi downgraded everyone’s to 2.3GB for better stability. But definitely needs sorting on website

Oh right, that’s news to me.

It wasn’t a downgrade on the package, 2.3Gbps is the maximum the line could get (on a 2.5Gbps profile) we just had to change the wording.

Ignore the portal, the options are not correct. The old portal is being taken offline today and the new one to go live shortly

Will get this amended, thanks

You guys planning it to be on the same link? Guessing we will need to resign up to it or you gonna import the profiles?
