Hello, I want to swap out the router that came with my package as the wifi is terrible. Ethernet connections are fine. Is it a case of unplugging the one router that came with the new one and plugging in the new one. The new one is 6e and the intention is to add a mesh network if just the router doesnt improve things. Thanks
Hello and welcome to the community ,
As long as the router supports vLAN of 911 on the WAN side you should be good to go!
Hello and welcome
As long as the new router support VLAN tagging on the WAN side you’ll be good, set it to VLAN 911
Thanks it is a tp-link AXE5400 6e so here goes
You should be all good, heres a guide for reference
Just be aware the connection may not come back up straight away, sometimes it takes 20-30 minutes. Aslong as you have the vlan 911 configured in iptv/vlan settings, then reboot your ONT.
If the internet doesn’t come straight up wait a litte while. Dont reboot the ONT multiple times in quick succession.
Example:
Sorry just so I understand I’ve entered those settings but have no Internet. Should I wait 40 minutes. I turned the Ons off only once when I first plugged the router in.
I’m using the ethernet to set up not the WiFi.
Can you take a picture of the iptv/vlan page?
Needs to be internet vlan ID 911
Its currently set to 2.
Dont need to apologise, we are all here to help.
Thanks Lee. That was it. I’ll go around and connect everything and see how the new router holds up.
