This is pure conjecture, but I would imagine getting static IPv4’s sorted along with resolving the new IP ranges reputational listing in some databases/with some providers is probably the more immediate priority as that’s affecting significantly more people daily than a few of us wanting to play with IPv6 stacks.
I agree with the waiting while other things get sorted out. But:
- It’s been 5 months since it was “a few days away”
- a bit of comms would go a long way.
Ok. In my book 22 days is a bit more than shortly.
Hey all! We’re still working on this but as said above priority has shifted slightly to ensuring the current IPv4 is working flawlessly.
IPv6 were still expecting a full roll out over the next couple of weeks.
Thanks. Just a thought - is there a page that has the initiatives you’re working on, and a current status / projected activities?
I think that would be a great way of showing the amount of work you’re doing, and keeping us abreast of the changing priorities.
We have a private one, however I would be more than happy open that up you all.
Also an area for any suggestions, feedback etc…
I do think something like that would be helpful. Don’t cause yourselves additional work otherwise it simply won’t happen. Perhaps an automated report off your backlog and roadmap, appropriately filtered to make sure no sensitive data is shared and of course recognising that all plans are liable to change.
Any update on IPv6 rollout? I’m happy to be added as a test user if that is still ongoing.
@Yayzi_Team
Any update on the IPv6 ?
Is the IPv6 support live? I am not in a hurry to get it, but I may as well set my router up to receive it
What’s the Prefix size? I’ve never really used ipv6 before
Nope… still work in progress
Waiting for an update from @Yayzi_Team
As we approach 6 months from my initial query, which was followed by several “within days” messages, I thought I’d follow up.
Is this still on your roadmap?
I can appreciate that other things are a priority - the strange ping response degradation in the evenings for example (I’m not totally convinced this isn’t a thinkbroadband problem rather than CityFibre/Yayzi)
We are about to continue rolling out, we’ve been finishing off some more testing on it
Has anyone now got working ipv6 yet?
Saw Yayzi say that they’ve started rolling it out again, but has anyone here seen any sign of it working?
@Yayzi_Team Can we get another update please as to when we can expect the roll-out to complete?
Think I’m just going to wait for IPv8. Might be along sooner
STILL NO IPV6 [quote=“Yayzi_Team, post:17, topic:94, full:true”]
Hi Anthony,
We’re actually getting rid of CGNAT, so you’ll end up with an IPv4 as default and then IPv6 alongside. We are looking to do this fairly soon (work has already started to move everyone over) - I very much doubt we’ll do the IPv6 over Christmas, but we will be looking to get rid of CGNAT before Christmas.
Thanks,
Liam

THIS WAS IN 2023 …NOW IN 2024 AND STILL NO IPV6
IPv6 is somewhere on the horizon…
Theres been a lot of networking updates over the past few months.
@Yayzi_Team have said it’s planned. Just waiting on a new date for testing. The move to static IP and new ranges makes things easier. But I am looking forward to testing out IPv6.
I’m not sure what changes IPV6 will legit do for me? Can I still connect to game servers that use ipv4? Does it make network troubleshooting easier or harder than ipv4?
I have a CCNA, but it didn’t really cover ipv6 back in 2012/2013
Ah, they’re not interoperable? I thought there were translation layers in place? I can’t imagine that IPv4 will be turned off when ipv6 comes, that would be stupid really
I’ll do some research
