Still not changed back over to my old IP just wondering how long it might be. No reply ping is around 16 ms but other people’s are lower was going to keep the current ip but if my old one performs better il swap back. Still stuck in America as well. Which I don’t mind but I asked if the ping would be better on my old IP now the network was upgraded. I emailed around two weeks ago with my request to swap back
I guess due to holidays the support is somewhat limited unless it’s loss of service, however, I very much doubt that changing IP will reduce ping given the hops will still be the same
I thought they had assigned all statics that were requested already. Open a ticket if you haven’t
Ping will rely a lot on geographical location, and then routing. Electrons can only move so fast, so the longer the route between you and the server you’re using to measure your ping, the higher your ping will be. The people with 4ms pings are almost certainly much closer to London than you are.
Yeah I’m not a million miles away
Hi I’ve sent two emails one in the 9th and one in the 15th and still not re assigned
I’m currently in West Virginia aparently lol and they are based in Blackpool not London which I’m closer to that London
I’ve resent my email
As per another topic on here, they have completed all the reassignments, but they’ve done it based on MAC addresses and they may have an out-of-date one on file for you hence why you’re not getting it. You may want to pop your current MAC address over in an email now to save time.
if it helps took around 15 days for my ip to reallocated to me and i never got a reply or acknowledgment i just checked and noticed i had my ip back
They’re based in Blackpool, but that doesn’t mean your traffic goes from you to the internet via Blackpool. If you use mtr or traceroute, you’ll probably find your traffic goes via London.
Thanks for the info
Thanks it’s been 21 days since I emailed originally
I had a 5ms ping on my previous cityfibre isp & I’m over 100 miles from London, shame it’s not that low on yayzi, their routing can’t be as good as my previous isp.
Same here so I’m starting to look at other ISP now as I’m getting sick of all this American stuff so annoying Everytime I email keep getting told you are on the list
Not really causing me an issue love the ads as I love America but just wondering if I swapped ip wether my ping would be lower than 12 if not then I’m all good wife’s iPhone I just had to set to UK manually and it’s been fine since
Changing IP’s imo will not reduce latency as the hops will still be the same, the Location reported does not get used during routing as far as i know
Might just stay as is then and if it changes it changes
It’s a pain for me kids online schooling cannot access my work server the list goes on
5ms is basically bang on what you should have for a 100 mile distance, so yeah it looks like routing was better on the old ISP if Yayzi’s noticeably higher.
Still no reply
