It was really bad again at peak times yesterday, with packet loss. I hope the new improved port speed sorts the issue. Any news on a date @Yayzi_Team when it’s getting implemented? It’s getting a daily occurrence now that just seems to get worse each day.
Just to put this out there btw latency between 20-40 is optimal latency as such you won’t notice the ping of 40ms. I really really wouldn’t be worried about ping of 40, if you get a ping of 50+ then yeah sure. But come on guys you really moaning about something you probs wouldn’t notice if the monitor wasn’t in place.
If you notice what I said, and you can see the confirmation of this at the top of the charts in the form of red spikes, there’s packet loss which makes gaming on Yayzi impossible currently. I’m using my backup Virgin for gaming in the hope the port upgrade they’re doing fixes the issue.
My comment wasnt related the the Packet loss, just a general comment about the ping
CraigT1976, my graph looks exactly the same. The 1-2AM spike is intriguing, I wonder what’s going on at the exact time slot. CDM update possibly. Maybe wrongly configured to only update then instead of run untill it’s pulled everything down and that’s causing more traffic to the wider interent than expected come peak time. IDK just guessing.
WhyAydan, optimal latency is as low as possible with zero jitter or loss. The graphs demonstrate an issue, which is probably not going to go away on it’s own and will likely get worse if not dealt with. Thankfully yayzi are on it, it’s taking a bit longer than I’d like for it to be resolved if I’m honest but It’s ok they will get there I’m sure.
This issue wasn’t present on my previous ISP I switched from last week, also on Cityfibre. Hopefully the planned resolution works or a different one soon after if not. Fingers crossed.
Obviously, but you will 100% not notice a ping time between 20-40. You are telling me that if that graph didn’t show you your ping that would notice it? No doubt there might be a small issue at large here but it is also peak times…
If it’s obvious why didn’t you say it. It’s not the total ping time that’s the isssue, but that’s obvious also. I suggest you go troll elsewhere. Goodbye.
I’m wondering if it’s because I’m on GPON and it’s saturated? Is there a planned XGS-PON upgrade anytime soon @Yayzi_Team ? Also do you have a date when your upgraded port will be completed?
I really want to get back to gaming on my Yayzi connection, the ping and packet loss during peak times is really annoying.
My understanding behind GPON is it will cut the sync speed of all subscribers rather than introducting latency.
That also doesn’t explain why it seems to be over a number of us all in different locations and on different GPON circuits
I run a internal smokeping and you can see the latency clear as day. As it occurs around the same times nightly you would imagine it would be simple to figure out?
Ouch!
With this level of background activity before running the test - pretty mush zero utilisation:
You can set your clock by it!
I’m in an XGS-PON area and having the exact same issues so I don’t think it’s that.
I’m at the point where I don’t even bother gaming at peak hours now because it’s just so frustrating. I’m northern-based so my ping is slightly higher to start with, tripling that with jitter and then adding in extra packet loss as a bonus is great.
This is my latest 24 hours, it seems to be getting worse. Can we have an update please @Yayzi_Team
The load between 1am and 2am is very confusing, what on earth is saturating the link in that specific time window? Its the same on everybodies monitors so it must be something network wide rather than localised.
To be honest the 1am - 2am doesn’t bother me, as I’m not using my connection then. It’s the fact gaming is pointless during peak times at the moment due to lag/packet loss and high pings.
Not as huge a spike as others, but something isn’t right in that 1am-2am window and it played havoc with the fortnite game I was in at 1am, had to come off at the end of the round due to ‘rubberbanding’
So I’ve noticed that 0100-0200 time window nukes the speed on my connection.
I can go back weeks and it’s always the same time-window. Example from last night
Any update / progress on the ongoing issue in the evening ?
Streaming (Disney+) noticed resolution drop and pixelation this evening
on 185.210.170.x ip
Regular as clockwork…
Ping times are currently worse than when I had VM so that’s not good!
And, you can see it’s not me - zero traffic in/out:
