We are launching our Refer a Friend Scheme once our new system goes live and are implementing it across the various communication channels available to our existing and new customers.
We want your feedback on what you would expect from a referral scheme when promoting our products to potential new customers, that you may or may not already know personally.
The incentive could simply be a free month of broadband for the referrer, for both referrer and new customer, or a set amount say £25 for example credited to your account for each new member.
What would an incentive to you mean and how would you like it implemented?
Would you see referral of just a few people as being attainable or do we have others that can go above and beyond, and need a more robust program or affiliate system?
What would you like to call the scheme that feels relevant to you?
We are open to feedback, before we finalise the first phase of this and who best to ask than our followers and existing customers.
I think a custom URL for ordering would be great, or a field where it says who referred you. Credit towards a bill is the best bet for both the new customer and existing one.
Funny this did come up in conversation, but upping the plan would also raise the cost over time even if one referral, so it might be a get Boost option for 30days, to higher speed if on a Pro package.
Credit towards a bill or ‘1’ month free which stacks, if you refer 12 friends you don’t have any bills for 12 months, etc.
Yayzi merch might be cool, 1 customer for a mug, 2 for a tshirt, etc. but not everyone will care about the brand and then it’s building out a merch line, shipping considerations, etc. bit of a faff
One month free internet can work although we have differences in costed products and also the price of those referred to take into account. ie Pro would get £50 credit while a 900 Plus £35, but you can add a 900 Plus or Pro and get same reward. 18mth contract would negate the whole period which is cool if referring 18 people and i assume would continue with us beyond 18mths on same terms.
Would love that.
Important thing… referrals and links not exposing personal information like Name. So maybe custom names in referral link?
Refered a few people, would be nice to get some freebie internets for doing it.
Maybe even also doing a discount on the 1st month for the person being refered
Imho the credit should be split for both the new customer and the person referring to also encourage the new user to use the referral.
apart from the referral link, it would be good if there was an option during order placement to insert something like account number of the person that referred you.
Referral links would probably be just a code or a number this could then be used if we use a referred by box, but hopefully most will come in via your RL.
Good point and very true! We do feel though due to this that many will naturally recommend and if we can reward our tribe by helping us build our tribe bigger, than thats only fair I guess.
Good point! Incentivise the new customer to follow the process when referred, I would assume this is more relevant to those that you may not already know like friend and family but more by the link being shared. We are looking at adding have you beed referred box in process, just how we implement this by code, number or name we have yet to decided the technicality.
Interesting point. Its how we implement and track this that becomes the issue, we can auto credit account no problem. We have considered a point system then you can use the points accumulated against different things, voucher, money off bill, SIM card etc or even against an upgrade boost or discount network cards etc.
Clearly £25 amazon voucher and credit back attracts more customers if you want to expand the tribe works out really well for toob and cuckoo… The CF engineer was saying that’s who the most installs are for.
Personally would be more excited about
plan upgrade for 30 days or 6 months even
free unlimited sim plan for 30 days, when it launches
for those with OCD that like to remember their IP, IP address of your choice if available, lol

Would be good to get like blue light card offers for example NHS etc employees and have cheap plans, as we’ve probably noticed you don’t do under 900Mb plans, but that is up to you if is financially beneficial.
I agree, but i might have not made myself clear. Have a 100Mb plan for blue light card holders for £20, that would get a lot of customers through the door. I have a blue light card too and a lot of my friends have 5G home broadband and they love it just because netflix is running fine, they don’t care about speed or latency. But that not be on yayzi likings as they seem to not be bothered by speeds under 900 Mb, they are aiming at a diffrent audience I guess or is just not financially viable.
Test it out, ask a friend that is non techie to go on cityfibre and choose a provider from the list, am sure he will pick yayzi last, as at first glance is the most expensive and doesn’t understand the benefits. Clearly yayzi customer base is mostly gamers or people that have home labs, vpn’s, home servers, docker kubernets etc
Later edit: Meanwhile I might use your ha clodflare tunnel monitor, great idea.
