Please can I have an update on the expected timeline for restoring static IP addresses? Thanks

I think I heard Tuesday or Wednesday be sorted. I’m waiting for my 141 back also

They’re working through them as we speak, it is just taking a while as you can imagine

i asked about how i get a static ip during all the crap that was going on… and never got a reply to my email… so on a different note… how come in the speed tests its gone from ipxo back to yayzi broadband now…

@THEHITMAN2020 Because the database has been updated to display the correct country of origin and ISP!.. isn’t that what you wanted? Instead of US search results…

@Redayejedi not sure who you are replying to mate…

@THEHITMAN2020 It’s directly after your question.

@Redayejedi but it could be addressed to anyone here in the post… lol… anyways i assume its to me… i had no problems with u.s results… the only thing i find thats funny… is that logins via google location and facebook… says that i login in different places around the uk… like thames valley when im in bognor regis west sussex…

@THEHITMAN2020 That’s nothing to do with the IP, that’s the location setting of the site/device, they either do a general location or precise.

IPXO name has been updated across the board. This will be filtering down to various services when they update

It’s a general location, all likely to vary depending on geo-provider and their own methods of determining exact locations (this is not from the customers end, but from our servers end)

IP location is also not used for maps.

well that can cause some problems when it comes to crime and legal aspects of users if the ip location cant be tracked…

The IP location can be tracked to an address via Yayzi if required

@THEHITMAN2020 So you honestly want your PUBLIC IP pointing straight at your property? It doesn’t for a reason, and never has.

The police contact your ISP for who you are, that’s how it works.

any ways… if any yayzi staff can reply about my email asking how i get a static ip… would be very grateful

but my ip changes very regular… but no dont want it to point at my address… but just the general area… like if i sign in to facebook or gmail… just tell me i signed in from bognor regis… not somewhere in scotland or manchester… id like to know if im getting hacked…
