Wait time for Static IP allocation?

So @Yayzi_Team, what the heck is going on?? Internet drops while in the middle of a meeting. Down for about 40 minutes or so. Go and power cycle the ONT and I’m back up but on a totally different network range and IP. This is not my idea of a fixed IP! Plus, this range is showing as being in Blackpool. I seem to be on holiday!

Please can someone explain what is going on, why the range/IP has changed, and if this is going to change again before I update all the stuff I need to update with the new IP. Oh, and speeds are a lot slower, latency is higher and I can’t even connect to a speed test server on the UDM which I’ve never had any problems with before. Not a happy bunny…

In fact, isn’t this the dodgy range with geo issues?? Please can you put me back on the 185.210 range if possible.

We’re looking into this for you, it shouldn’t have changed. We’ll get it sorted for you.

Any response please still in the us would appreciate a static in the 185 range @yayzi_team

It also seems that I’m not on a static IP. Could somebody swap me over please?

Hello, may ask for static IP also? Now every single router reboot is IP changed:weary:. Will happy if IP will in 185 range and stay in Scotland or Great Britain  thank you @Yayzi_Team

@Yayzi_Team - What is the wait time for Static IP Allocation? I joined in November 2024, it’s now January 2025 and I still don’t have a permanent, UK based and search focussed static IP address - I’ve just been bounced around from range to range, each with issues. I appreciate that you’ve had your hands full with the less than perfect migration but seriously, how long can it take to add a MAC address and an IP address into a DHCP server. I was promised on Friday 3rd by Liam it would be done on Monday 6th (see below). Today is the 8th and still no comms despite chasing? Please just be honest - when will it be done? Or do I, like others, need to seriously have a chat about ending my contract early without penalty as you’re not supplying the service promised?

Hi Chris,

You’re on the list to have your static applied on Monday.

Thanks,

Liam

Did you pass on your WAN MAC?

I’ve never been asked to pass on a MAC address. Surely you already have this as you’re supplying me an IP Address. I just need to know it’s static and in a working range. If this was needed, why has Liam stated it will be applied on Monday.

So, I ask again, has it been done? If not, when will it be done?

Please can you send your WAN MAC address to [email protected], we need this to ensure we are supplying the correct IP to the correct person

Just for clarity - I connect the ONT direct into a PC bypassing the router. So, do you need the MAC address of the router to confirm the correct person or the MAC address of the NIC in the PC the ONT is connected to?

Needs the MAC of the device you want the Static IP to be on (normally the router, but in your case if you just use the ONT on your desktop then the desktop Mac)

Assuming you’re using the Yayzi router, you want the MAC address in yellow:

Thanks PrinterElf / WhyAydan
I’ll have to go into Hyper-V later to find the mac address of the port on the card I’m using.
Can it be confirmed it is [email protected] who need this information as in many threads in this forum when people request static IP addresses, some entries say the request should go to [email protected] and some say [email protected]?

Yes please [email protected] - was only support over the Christmas and new year break

Ok - email with MAC address sent to [email protected] - please advise when done.
