Wait time for Static IP allocation?

Just messaged you

When will this be sorted? I’m paying extra for a static ip address but not getting it. It took 2 months to get a static ip address last year. Is it going to be the same this time? Please just be honest with us and tell us what is happening.

@Yayzi_Team I sent you a DM. Was something meant to happen in the backend? Not heard anything?

Why are you paying extra for a static ip as I’m certainly not as it’s included in the price

My package doesn’t include a static IP so I pay £2 per month extra for it.

Okay yeah I didn’t realise they charge £2 for 900mbps customers😂

I can see now my ip has changed to a 79.135.*. * address.
national lottery website appears to work also.

Does this mean the 149 range is no good.

Thanks for actioning this.

@Yayzi_Team you told me last week you’d get my static IP sorted when I last mentioned it. Have left all alone this week under the assumption it was done and just now rebooted my router and I’ve got yet another new IP address on the 185 range

Can you get this done for me please (for sure) ?

Are 185 IP’s able to be made static yet? My router rebooted and got another new IP.

Interesting. I just flipped back to using my Opnsense box as I find it easier to troubleshoot using their logs, and I have been assigned a new IP. Meh, flipped back gateways and got my old IP back so OK crisis averted.

Cheers.

Anecdotally if you clone the MAC of the router you have a static on, you’ll get that static allocated to whatever you run from my testing. Yayzi say it’s not provisioned based on MAC, but rather port, thing is I get exactly the same results you do if I use the original MAC vs the default on the new router.

Ah, but the thing is the MAC was already cloned. No static with VM so if I wanted to keep the same IP but play with different routers then I had to use the same MAC across the board. So, I really don’t get it. Does make you wonder if all static IPs are equal but some are more equal than others!

@Yayzi_Team well… woke up this morning to another new IP after a scheduled middle of the night router reboot, just rebooted router again and yet another new IP… So you’ve managed to drop the ball on apologising for dropping the ball… If you say you’re going to sort it, then sort it. Everytime I get a new IP I have several work firewalls that I need to update, which is a right PITA. If you need me to raise a proper ticket, I will do. I’m not using the supplied EX820v if that makes a difference.

Hi Mike,

Sorry, we wouldn’t have done that over the weekend just incase anything happened (we’re a little more cautious) but it will get done for you today, connection will drop for a few mins shortly :slightly_smiling_face:
