The other PC would need atleast a wifi 6 card in it and be pretty close to the Yayzi wifi. If you go into the wifi card on the other PC itāll show you thre signal strength, anything below 1000mbps and the test is pointless.
Ideally you need 2 PCās both with atleast a 2.5gbps nic going into a 2.5gbps switch going into the Yayzi 2.5 lan port for iperf to accurately rule out anything.
Right guys I feel like a titš. Itās working now for some strange reason I didnāt realise he had antivirus installed as waasa hidden not sure how he done that the little S***. Now see speeds below
One other thing Iāve just remembered. I donāt use the supplied router, so I donāt even know if this is available on the EX820v. If youāve got QoS (Quality of Service) enabled on the router - switch it off (and make sure it stays off always). Despite what this feature promises, Iāve only ever found it (on other brands of router) to be more of a hassle - and in some cases it can even affect speeds levels when only one device is active.
Iām glad youāve got it sorted Shaun, I was 100% sure the issue wasnāt at our end, Iām happy Iām not going crazy, yet! Enjoy your new stupidly fast broadband
Still less than they have been. I was getting around 1.8Gb all the time before going on to the new subnet. Then itās been quite variable. Nothingās changes my end so I know itās not a dodgy antivirus
Fortnite in-game latency is hitting 10% regularly this evening as well. Yesterday afternoon, there wasnāt much at all and the most I saw was 1% but it hardly came up. Tonight, itās really bad - pretty much constant in-game with the disconnection symbol coming up all the time and yeah, up to 10% - sorry - just hit 14% packet loss. 15% now - solidly bad.
So Yayzi guys, something to look at - your network/connectivity tonight versus yesterday afternoon.
Fortnite in-game packet loss has been a pretty much constant 10-20% tonight - not very helpful. I think Iām going to have to switch back to VM for the time being make sure that is still running with zero packet loss and then seriously consider cancelling the cancellation with them. Are you seeing anything at all your end?
So, flipped everyone over to VM for tonightās gaming. Absolutely 0% in-game packet loss, no disconnection warnings, nothing. No problems at all.
So, itās pretty conclusive as far as I can see, Cable plugged in to ONT - issues. Cable plugged in to VM hub - no issues. So, the only difference in set up is where the cable goes once it has left my network. So, assume this is a routing/peering issue.
I donāt play Fortnite (gimmie some Quake or UT any day!), but iād imagine if for example you were using an ISP whoās geolocation lead to Epic connecting you to a US server for example, then the sort of things you describe could happen. Hopefully at some point quite soon, we may be able to test that theory with a UK geo-location.
Both VM and Yayzi connections result in being connected to the European server. What I have seen though is variations in the traceroutes to the EU server. Sometimes itās just 17 hops, other times it is 21. With VM it was 16 hops so again, seems like a routing/peering issue to me.
ps. I was an RTCW kind of person. That was the multiplayer for me! Simpler timesā¦!!
Taking a look at this now, we have no capacity issues on the network but that does seem like a capacity issue somewhere. Checking in with CityFibre NOC. Will keep you updated
