Definitely max of 80Mhz for your phone

So yeah I would make sure that you’re forcing 2.4Ghz to 20Mhz width and 5Ghz to 80Mhz width.

Then turn of auto channel selection and try a few channels to see if you can find one that’s not so congested.

Try and make sure that your channels on your Virgin router and your Yayzi one are as far apart as possible so you’re avoiding overlap.

For 2.4Ghz make sure you’re only using 1, 6 or 11.

This is quite a useful chart that shows the channels and overlaps etc.

@Arthanex thanks m8. I’ll check all.

@Morganr are you using the Yayzi TpLink router, or your own router? I’ve been getting reduced speeds, and the thinking now is that there may be a configuration mismatch with the new hardware and particular third party routers. I understand they’ve had several reports of customers with Asus routers (me included) with the same issue, so I do know they’re looking into it.

Interesting… I have the TP Link router connected to the ONT and then an ASU router connected via ethernet to the TP… Wonder what the config is (by the way would be great if we could speed test at the TP Link router!)

You’d be better of going Asus router straight into ONT.

As long as you can configure VLAN 911 on the Asus WAN port then you shouldn’t need the TP Link in between.

That just creates a double NAT and can cause all sorts of weirdness. Plus it’s an extra point of failure for troubleshooting.

Is there a reason you have it set up that way?

Not really… The original advice from YUayzi was to use theirs but Im ok to skip that… looks like ill be trying to play around with wiring jungle this evening (and the christmas tree adds to that!)

Nah go direct to ONT. Just make sure you have VLAN ID set to 911 in your WAN settings on the Asus and then connect that direct to the ONT.

Keep in mind though that when you swap out the router, you may have to wait 20-30 minutes or so for it to grab an IP address due to the way DHCP lease times work. So if it doesn’t come alive with internet straight away, just wait 30 minutes or so and you should find it will come back online.

If you’re using your own router then you we would recommend going direct into the ONT

@Yayzi_Team i am still having problem with my speeds i have email you guys about this when would this be sorted

Just want to hop in here as I want to see if this is the same for others.

People on the ASUS routers can you enable SSH on the router then connect to the router. Once connected could you run this command iperf3 -c lon.speedtest.clouvider.net -P 20

To enable SSH please go to Admin → System → Services → Enable SSH (LAN only). Then tick Allow Password login.

Once done please post your results, just the 2 bits at the end that says [SUM]

Only there seems to be something wrong with the built in speed test not showing correct results.

[SUM] 0.00-10.01 sec 1.16 GBytes 994 Mbits/sec 2393 sender
[SUM] 0.00-10.01 sec 1.13 GBytes 971 Mbits/sec receiver

I have been wondering myself about the speed situation and had been waiting to see if it would improve.
I’m on the 1.2 Gig Pro but its looking like I may be limited to 900 / 1000
I did the iperf test myself from the Unifi UCG-Max via SSH and got:

The UCG max Speedtest is fine, that one is not broken! You just won’t get 1.2 gig all time

Before migration I was getting 1200 or slightly over most of the time on all speed test sites including the built in UCG-Max.
Just seems a little odd…

I know what you mean! I also seem to get lower than 1.2 post migration vs pre migration

Same here - slightly slower post migration.

I’m getting the same full speed 1200/1000 as I was prior to the migration. So the only improvement I could have seen was peak hour pings, glad to report these aren’t an issue any longer. Using the provided EX820v router.

Maybe its because I’m using Unifi kit… ? :man_shrugging:

Using Alta Route10 router, 900 Plus

Speed seems much the same to the router. Ping time have improved.

[SUM] 0.00-10.00 sec 1.11 GBytes 951 Mbits/sec 388 sender
[SUM] 0.00-10.01 sec 1.09 GBytes 937 Mbits/sec receiver

@Arthanex @Dziros @Yayzi_Team
Hi folks,
I tested my internet speed as you advised on a laptop with gigabit Ethernet port. Download speeds are still low and ping is high. What is your recommendation?

Test at 12:42 is on mobile device and other ones on a laptop.
