So we all know its been a rough few days, and today is the day where things are supposed to improve, the migration has apparently been done, and 18:00 is/was the point at which we were supposed to be able to see a gradual uplift in speed, could we get some clarification on what to, and what the process of getting back to full profile speed between now and Friday looks like please?
Also, is IPv6 enabled yet?
IPV6 is not yet enabled no.
I have asked Liam to reply, which I am sure he will
IPv6 should not really be a concern at the minute in my eyes and focus on getting the network stable again with everyone’s pings & speeds back up to what they should be
Since all the relevant topics were closed…
If I understand what I’m reading. Should we experience better speeds from 18:00 or are you saying we’re stuck at the speeds we have now until Friday?
“• Until integration is complete, the network will continue to operate within current capacity limits.”
Sounds like we’re stuck with it until Friday… Although I feel like it will be a miracle if the integration goes without issue.
I’m assuming we’ve got at least another two days of a much reduced service. I’m seeing plenty of packet loss at the moment and we’re not even at the 16:30 cliff edge. The question is, will the speeds be bottomed at around 50Mb or are we likely to see sub 1Mb speeds again during this period?
We’re trying everything we can to keep the speeds at a useable level in the interim.
Based on this:
As long as we don’t all try to check what speed we’re getting then we’ll be fine
We literally have Schrodinger’s internet bandwidth at the moment - It’s only there if we don’t check what state it’s in
Yeah, got around 5-10% packet loss at the moment.
So again to ask the question as we have been told repeatedly this week it all finishes on the 11th, I ask as from above your saying now it will or might be the weekend ?
Or should that be Heisenberg’s…?
I’m sorry, it was my fault for closing it. will fix that
I think what I don’t understand is you say the migration are/will be complete at 1800, the new cables are installed, everything was scheduled to be finished today. But now we have to wait 2 days for City Fibre to turn something on?
Almost like it’s been badly planned, would you say?
No need to run Speedtests as it’s clearly reverted to dial-up speeds again - Internet radio keeps dropping out and basic web pages are taking ages to load.
Can everyone else please stop using the Internet so that I can download a couple of important files?!
Maybe we could devise a rota where we all get a 10 minute slot to use the Internet?!
For the full early internet experience I hope these files are either a picture of Gillian Anderson or Anna Kournikova
I would imagine by Friday the posts will move again …
